The organisation was founded in 2007 by Dr. Nurlan Silitonga, a sexual health physician with more than 15 years of international clinical research and project experience in sexual and reproductive health.

Angsamerah employs a dedicated team of professionals in its first Jakarta clinic: managing director, clinical staff of general practitioners, nurses, midwives, laboratory technician, administrative and training/communications staff. Also supporting all activities are senior advisers with management, clinical, teaching and research experience:

To provide appropriate, accessible and affordable sexual and reproductive health services that are holistic and of a consistently high quality to all Indonesians and ensure accurate information on sexual health is integrated throughout Indonesian society.
